THE first visit of the Foodies Night Markets to Morisset has been hailed a success. Markets manager Anna Demasi said between 4,500 and 5,000 people attended the event at Morisset Showground on Sunday. "The event went well. Everyone enjoyed themselves," Ms Demasi said. "We will be back in January some time. The locals had some great feedback and said they enjoyed the range of food. Our vendors were extremely well received by the people at Morisset."

Two awards for council
LAKE Macquarie City Council has been honoured at the NEWi Awards for Digital Creativity where it won for Best Tourism Solution for the 'Love The Lake' campaign. Council also scored a 'Best of the Best' 2019 National Customer Service Excellence Award. At Monday's council meeting mayor Kay Fraser congratulated the staff involved. "We've completed a range of work to make sure we're placing the customer at the centre of everything we do," Cr Fraser said.
Sunday gig in the trees
MORISSET Uniting Church - the Church in the Trees - will host a relaxing afternoon concert of music and song this Sunday from 2pm. The concert will feature musicians, singers and groups performing a varied program. Tickets cost $10 and include refreshments provided at interval.
