The Kick On for Women (KOFW) was launched across 20 locations in Northern NSW in October last year.
Since then, more than 400 women have been introduced to the game of football.
The program attracted women who had never kicked a ball, who wanted to get active and make friends.
The success of the program across the region has seen a new KOFW hub created at Douglass Street Oval, Dora Creek.
KOFW project officer Michelle Forbes said the program had brought women and girls from all walks of life together.
"Many of the participants turn up to the first session, a bit shy and unsure, but 45-minutes later they're laughing with new friends and have clocked up some steps," Ms Forbes said.
Women and girls joined the program for various reasons.
Some wanted some 'me' time for themselves, some wanted to make friends, and others simply wanted to get outside and exercise in a positive and non-threatening space, Ms Forbes said.
The program is open to females aged 16 years and older. It runs for eight consecutive weekly sessions on Monday nights.
Sessions are run by accredited facilitators.
The cost is $50 for the eight-week term.
KOFW at Dora Creek will be held for 45 minutes every Monday from 6.30pm.
Each session involves fun skill-based activities, and small-sided games.
