The free, family-friendly event supported by Newcastle Permanent will be held at Speers Point Park on Friday, January 17, featuring the blockbuster movie, Aladdin (rated PG).
Entertainment will begin from 5.30pm with live music, kids' activities including a circus workshop, roving characters and football fun.
Once the sun goes down the screen will light up for the feature movie. Aladdin features the musical talents of Laura Zarb and Adrianna Mac Trio.
Newcastle Permanent's CEO Bernadette Inglis said the organisation was proud to deliver what is now believed to be Australia's largest free regional outdoor cinema program.
"We understand how much people in regional communities across NSW look forward to our Cinema Under the Stars events, and as a customer-owned organisation it's a real pleasure to give these events to the communities that support us," Ms Inglis said.
"Since 2008, Newcastle Permanent's Cinema Under the Stars has brought people together at free outdoor cinema events in regional NSW, and our second event in Lake Macquarie is expected to attract 4,000 people on January 17."
Entry is free.
People are encouraged to take picnic rugs and picnics to the event, or purchase food and non-alcoholic drinks at the venue as they soak up the magical atmosphere of watching a popular family film under the stars.
This season's Newcastle Permanent Cinema Under the Stars program will travel to 14 locations throughout regional NSW, providing an evening of free, family-friendly entertainment.
