Sisters Estelle Keeber, of the UK, and Leona Burton, who works in Spain, founded Mums in Business Association (MIBA) in 2017.
Their website said the organisation now boasted more than 32,000 MIBA chapters around the world.
“Mums in Business Association is a place where mums from all over the world come together to learn, support each other and network,” Ms Keeber said.
“Whether you are a fully fledged business owner or just starting out with an idea, MIBA is the place for you to develop and grow.”
Lake Macquarie business woman Amanda Stubbs has been appointed Lake Macquarie co-ordinator for MIBA.
Ms Stubbs is the founder of The Savvy Sidekick, a virtual business management enterprise that provides a range of support services for businesses including bookkeeping and marketing.

She said mothers in business struggled to connect with fellow business owners because so many networking events were not child friendly.
“Networking is so important for business growth which is why we need events catered specifically for mums, by mums,” Ms Stubbs said.
“As mums in business we know exactly how hard it is to juggle children, family life, and business so we can design events specifically for our members.”
She said the Lake Macquarie chapter of MIBA would hold monthly support and networking events.
The first will be held at Toronto Workers Club on Monday, December 17, from 10am to noon.
“We want to help educate, empower and inspire mums in business to know that being a mum doesn’t have to be everything. You can be a successful business owner and have your own identity, too,” Ms Stubbs said.
MIBA offers women child-friendly meetings where women can have their children with them as they network with like-minded business women.
She said women in MIBA would receive quality education on how to make their business grow, and they would form “strategic alliances” with fellow local mums in business that would help both of their businesses.
“Our first amazing speaker is Tara Mollel, a confidence coach,” Ms Stubbs said.
“She will be presenting a very hot topic for the Lake Macquarie launch entitled, ‘Easy and Authentic Sales’.”
Participants at the launch event in Toronto would go home with “a multitude of free resources in their special MIBA goody bags”, Ms Stubbs said.
“If you are a mum in business, serious about growing your business, and you can only make it out of the house for one event this year – this is the one to attend.”
