The Hunter Valley Gardens' annual 'Christmas Lights Spectacular' returned on November 5 and will run until January 26 at Pokolbin in the heart of Hunter wine country.
The show boasts more than three million lights across a number of walk-through exhibits and interactive attractions, with a fireworks display planned for New Years Eve.
The Gardens' marketing manager, Kim Jacobs, described the show as a "wonderful escape" after a tough year.
"Our rides, attractions and lights are back with some amendments and carefully thought out COVID-safe measures in place to ensure everyone can attend safely and finish off the year with cherished memories," she said.
In keeping with NSW COVID-19 public health precautions, visitors were required this year to book tickets advance and organisers said they would adhere to capacity restrictions.
The exhibit includes more than 20 displays scattered across 14 hectares of gardens, including festive favourites the eight-metre Christmas tree, Santa's workshop and a giant walk-through bauble.
Tickets are on sale, available through the Hunter Valley Gardens' website.
