Similarly, the council has responded to ensure we keep our community and employees safe and we continue to monitor the situation daily. Last week we saw a range of closures to our community facilities and buildings, and made some innovative changes to the way we provide our services.
I want to again reassure residents that the council remains open and is committed to continuing to provide our essential services for the community throughout this crisis. For the most up-to-date information about council services visit lakemac.com.au/covid-19
This week on the website we've added some easy to read guides for local sole traders, companies and employers about what support is available from the Federal and NSW governments. More information will be added as work continues in this space to ensure our residents and businesses are kept up-to-date.
If residents need to contact the council, I encourage them to call 4921 0333, email via council@lakemac.nsw.gov.au or engage with us through Lake Macquarie City Council's Facebook page @lakemaccity.
Last week, the council had a few enquiries about accessing green bags for our food bins. Green bags are still available and can be collected from the Works Depot on Creek Reserve Road, Boolaroo, and at Charlestown library from 11am-1pm on Wednesdays and Swansea and Toronto libraries from 11am-1pm on Thursdays. A new roll of 150 bags will be delivered to Lake Macquarie homes from mid-May and throughout June.
