Mr King-Adams' wife, Mandy, said she was so proud to watch Digby complete his lap of the lake by road - only to see him touch the finish line and keep going.
"He actually went on and did a further 2.2 kilometres after touching the sign to complete two full marathon lengths," she said.
Mr King-Adams, 39, started his journey shortly after 1am on Thursday by touching a sign at Morisset station.
The father of four completed 42.2km - the equivalent of a marathon - on Thursday morning, stopping at Belmont only after taking ill when he ate breakfast.
He resumed from Belmont on Friday morning.
The second marathon-length part of the journey saw him loop around the top end of the lake and back around to Morisset.
Mr King-Adams, of Mirrabooka, embarked on the run to draw attention to the plights of two locals in need.
They are Julie Ward, of Cooranbong, whose house on Freemans Drive was destroyed by fire on February 17, and Joanne Hitchick, of Brightwaters, who recently lost her husband, Andrew, after a motorcycle accident.
Separate Go Fund Me pages have been set up to collect financial donations for Ms Ward and Ms Hitchick and her children.
Mrs King-Adams said Digby was physically exhausted when he returned to Morisset this afternoon.
"At first he was reconsidering that extra bit as he knew he would be very tired," she said.
"But then he realised that extra half an hour of painful movement is nothing compared to what Mrs Hitchick would give to get an extra half hour with her husband. So he did it."
