At around 2pm, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to the single-vehicle rollover on the motorway.
"The aircraft critical care paramedic and doctor helped emergency services to free a 60-year-old male, the only occupant, from the vehicle," a spokesperson for the Northern NSW Helicopter Rescue Service said.
"The man has sustained abdominal injuries in the incident. He is being transported to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition."
