Emotions are still running high in the community in the fallout from the floods.

The council has moved to avoid a repeat of the at-times unruly scenes at the council meeting in Gosford on February 12.

At that meeting, members of the gallery interjected and forced mayor Lisa Matthews to call them to order.

Council said residents who wanted to participate in the public forum and the council meeting on Monday would be required to sign-in in person on the day of the meeting.

This was necessary due to limited public gallery capacity at the council chambers, and to "ensure the safety of the community", the council said.

Registration will be open from 4pm at the Hely Street building.

"The public gallery space will be closed once capacity is reached," the council said.

"Community members requesting to speak at the public forum, held from 5pm to 6pm before each council meeting, are required to lodge a Request to Speak Form no later than 10am on the day of the meeting.

"Only approved pre-registered speakers are able to address council."

Council also reminded locals that council meetings were an opportunity to observe the council decision-making process, and while council meetings were open to the public, they were not public meetings.

Residents who were unable to attend could view the meeting live via webcast streaming, council said.

The meeting will be held on Monday, February 24, at Wyong Council Chambers, at 6.30pm.
