The movie will be screened at sunset in Speers Point Park on Saturday, February 29.
Entertainment at the free family-friendly event will begin at 5.30pm with live music, children's activities including a circus workshop, roving characters and football activities.
Newcastle Permanent's CEO, Bernadette Inglis, said the organisation was proud to deliver what was now Australia's largest free regional outdoor cinema program.
"We understand how much people in regional communities across NSW look forward to our Cinema Under the Stars events, and as a customer-owned organisation it's a real pleasure to give these events to the communities that support us," Ms Inglis said.
"Since 2008, Newcastle Permanent's Cinema Under the Stars has brought people together at free outdoor cinema events in regional NSW, and our second event in Lake Macquarie is expected to attract 4,000 people this February."
Entry is free, and people are encouraged to take along their picnic rugs and picnics, or purchase food and non-alcoholic drinks at the park.
The featured musical act will be Matt and Laura Zarb.
This season's Newcastle Permanent Cinema Under the Stars program will travel to 14 locations throughout regional NSW.
