Lake Mac Attack was skippered by Chad, who won the toss and elected to bat in the championship match.
The Lake Macquarie team reached 9-127 from its 20 overs.
The Aces were restricted to 9-121 in the run chase.
Toronto captain Corey Brown said playing on the hallowed turf was an experience to savour.
"It was unreal. The wicket was superb for batting, but it was kind of weird, too," he said.
Brown said he was used to seeing the SCG at least half full of spectators. No such crowd was on hand on Sunday.
"We had access to the change rooms, but unfortunately we had the away rooms," Brown said.
He said the square boundaries seemed regulation size, but the straight boundaries felt long, and not many boundaries were struck down the ground.
Brown batted at No.9 in the final, and finished 14 not out.
He didn't get the ball to the boundary, but was more concerned with taking ones and twos and ensuring the Attack played out its 20 overs.
He said he'd never forget the first runs he scored on the SCG.
"The spinner dropped one a bit short so I was able to go back and work it behind square for a single," he said.
Earlier, opener Daniel Arms top scored with 24, while Chad made 21, and Westwood 2.
Chad backed up with the ball to take 3-23 from three overs, while Daniel Bailey claimed 5-17 off four overs at the top of the innings.
Kookaburras run out
IN Newcastle District Cricket this Saturday, University will resume at 1-65 in pursuit of Toronto Workers' first innings total of 172.
Brown said his team missed an opportunity.
"We were 5-166 at one stage, so to be all out for 172 was pretty disappointing because I thought we were getting on top of the bowling and were in a position to go on and make 250-plus," he said.
Toronto's innings was hamstrung by three run outs in the middle order.
Two of those dismissals were from long throws from the boundary, and the third was the result of a "suicidal second run", the captain said.
"We haven't had that many run outs in one innings all season," Brown said.
Logan Johnson scored 53 for Toronto after answering the captain's game-day invitation to open the innings.
"Logan played really well. He played nice and straight, which is a feature of his game, and he was well on top of the bowling."
Johnson fell to a catch by Joseph Hart at mid-off from the bowling of spinner Aqib Zafar.
Brown said mid-off and mid-on had been placed "in no man's land" between the orthodox positions and boundary riders, and Johnson's attempt to go over the top came up short.
Ben Roberts (42) and Finlay Thornton (23) also made handy contributions.
Brown said his team would look to take early wickets this Saturday and apply pressure to University.
He's expecting University to bat aggressively, too.
"When teams have come hard at us this season we've had a lot of success," he said.
He's hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
