Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking striking images of people and places across Lake Macquarie for the exhibition.
"We want to see interesting, original and eye-catching images depicting people and places in Lake Macquarie," council's arts, culture and events manager, Jacqui Hemsley, said.
The exhibition is part of Lake Mac's new Art in your community program, which aims to use MAC's newly expanded exhibition space at Booragul to showcase the work of local artists.
"This new program aims to celebrate and promote our city's diverse creativity," Ms Hemsley said.
Photos must depict people and places in Lake Macquarie, and can be submitted only by Lake Macquarie residents.
Ms Hemsley said images selected for exhibition would be printed to A3 size, in either portrait or landscape format, and up to three images would be permitted from each photographer.
MAC will cover the cost of printing and hanging the works in museum-standard stock frames.
Those selected for inclusion will be offered for sale unframed. MAC will collect a 25 per cent commission on any sales during the exhibition period.
Entries close at 4pm on Tuesday, January 28.
The exhibition will be held from February 8 to April 15.
