The workers witnessed the unfortunate incident in which the mother duck was struck near their work site in Dickinson Street, Charlestown.
They scooped up the ducklings and delivered them to Westlakes Veterinary Hospital.
Practice manager and head veterinary nurse Heidi Zerzwadja said the ducklings were all expected to survive.
"We took them in and the vet checked them over to make sure they had no injuries," Ms Zerzwadja said.
"We then arranged for a carer from the Native Animal Trust Fund to take them into their care."
The ducklings were old enough to survive without their mother, she said.
Native ducklings were occasional patients at the hospital, but pet ducks were particularly rare, she said.
"I think in 10 years we might have seen one pet duck that was brought in for treatment."
Being spring, there are plenty of native ducks with ducklings out and about.
