Inverter systems are becoming more efficient, costing a third of the older systems to run, according to Matthew Alcorn from Allrite Airconditioning.
"Older compressor systems cost between approximately 80-90 cents an hour to run whereas the new inverter technology costs approximately between 22-25 cent per hour to run," he said,
"But always make sure you use a fully insured, qualified and licensed installer.
"If your installers are not fully insured or hold all the appropriate licences, including refrigerant and handling, your warranty will be void.
"Most manufacturers including a full 5 years parts and labour warranty."
