"The overall wellbeing of all our cast and crew during a show is of utmost importance," the WMTC committee said in a statement.
"We pride ourselves in providing a safe, fun, inclusive and nurturing environment for all our members."
The committee said some "principal members of our cast became ill or injured" and unable to perform on the dates for the show's run which was scheduled to start on September 27.
No detail was provided as to the nature of the illness and injury, nor the cast members affected.
The WMTC statement included an apology to audience members, and revealed the newly scheduled dates for the musical.
"Our new show run will be from November 15 to December 1," the WMTC statement said.
"For those who have currently purchased tickets [for the originally scheduled performances], your tickets have automatically rolled over to the new dates.
"If you have any questions, concerns or need to change or check your tickets for the new dates please email president@wmtc.com.au only."
The statement thanked locals for their understanding and ongoing support of the theatre company and local performances.
"We look forward to seeing you at Grease in November," it concluded.
