The change is necessary to enable Transport for NSW to carry out its biannual inspections and maintenance of the bridge.
Last month, the northbound Swansea bridge became stuck in the open position due to a mechanical fault.
Northbound and southbound motorists were both forced to use the southbound Swansea bridge under contra-flow conditions.
Similar changes will be implemented while Transport for NSW works on the bridge next week.
"Transport for NSW will inspect and test the electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and emergency systems of the bridge overnight to minimise impact to motorists," a spokesperson for Transport for NSW said.
"Work will be carried out at night, starting on Monday, October 28, between 7pm and 5am, and is expected to be completed in four shifts, weather permitting.
"Skippers are advised the bridge will not be open for marine traffic while work is carried out."
The southbound bridge will be closed on Monday night.
The northbound bridge will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
One bridge will remain open at all times with one lane operating in each direction.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40kph will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.
"Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control," the spokesperson said.
