Hunter Valley Martial Arts Centre, in Morisset, will host a free anti-bullying clinic on Wednesday, October 30.
It's for children aged 3 to 10 years, and it will be held at 4pm.
Hunter Valley Martial Arts owner Sandy Hayes said the clinic would be a light-hearted event mixed with some serious content.
The clinic will include basic self-defence skills, a Halloween costume competition, and an obstacle course, as well as a visit and presentation by a special guest from emergency services.
"We make this Halloween event as fun for the children as possible but we don't take the opportunity lightly," Ms Hayes said.
"We use this event to talk to the children about the real-life fears they have and to start a dialogue about stranger danger, bullying and self-defence."
The free clinics will also be held at the Hunter Valley Martial Arts centres at Warners Bay, Green Hills, Waratah and Redhead.
The Morisset centre is at Unit 4/24 Alliance Avenue, Morisset
