Club president Ron Bracken said Probus had plenty going for it.
"Our motto is 'Fun, Friendship and Fellowship'," he said.
The group meets once a month, and enjoys monthly outings and functions.
"Membership is open to retired and semi-retired men, and our partners and friends are invited to the guest speaker segment of each meeting, and are also welcome to join us on all our outings and functions."
In 2019, the club has heard from guest speakers talking on topics ranging from University of Newcastle research programs and bees to the Newcastle light rail, fishing in Lake Macquarie, and the history of Morisset Hospital.
Last month, the club visited a barramundi farm for lunch, then enjoyed wine tasting at Port Stephens Winery.
Among its upcoming outings are a chicken and prawn lunch at South Lake Macquarie Amateur Sailing Club, a cruise on Lake Macquarie aboard the MV Lady Mac, and a Christmas party with a three-course lunch at Linton Gardens, at Somersby.

Probus has no political or religious affiliation, and there is no fundraising required of members. Mr Bracken conceded he was sceptical about that claim before he joined the organisation.
"But it's true," he said. "There's none of that."
It's the friendships, though, that Mr Bracken said most members valued most about Probus.
"When we moved up to Lake Macquarie we left all of our friends behind," he said.
"But now we've made lots of new friends, and it's the same for the other members. These are friends who we have over for dinner, and enjoy weekends away with, outside of Probus."
He encouraged local men who might be interested learning more about the club to attend the open day.
"The only way to know for sure is to come and see it, and meet the guys," he said.
The open day will be held in the hall at the corner of Pearson Street and Fishery Point Road, from 10am on Wednesday, November 13.
The open day will feature a sample of guest speakers at 10am, morning tea with members, and then a free barbecue lunch.
