Carey Bay Cellars
Purchased by Jake Moses, 28 years ago, Carey Bay Cellars is now in the hands of third generation with Mal Moses and his son Jasper behind the wheel.
"We still call the place 'Jakes' as do many of the locals," Mal said.
Celebrating his fifth anniversary this month, Mal has aimed to differentiate the business by offering boutique wines, beer and cider to his customers while also passing on the savings of the Cellarbrations brand buying group.
Mal's wine selection is varied, showing his passion for local wine brands such as Peppertree, Scarborough and Audrey Wilkinson to name a few.
The craft beer selection showcases the extensive styles in the market with an ever-changing range keeping up with the new and exciting varieties brewed both locally and interstate.
Carey Bar Cellars also offers a deli range of local dips, cheeses, olives and biscuits with the popular locally roasted Peaberry Coffee range which includes 'Black Betty', 'Mac Daddy' and 'Straight Up' blends. Mal said people come from all around to purchase their favourite coffee brand.
With competitive pricing and great weekly specials and in-store specials, why not pop in and check out their range for your next function.
Shane's Seafood
WHEN it comes to high quality seafood, make Shane's at Carey Bay Shopping Centre your first port of call.
Proudly sustainably sourced, Shane's supplies fresh seafood to more than 100 restaurants across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens.
Opening their long-awaited retail shop this year, former owner Shane Sneddon has passed the reins to current managers Basil and Tony Wearne.
Shane's Seafood happily support the local fishing industry by always having available local varieties such as sand whiting, dusky flathead and local snapper, which is one of their most popular among customers.
Other favourites are Atlantic Tasmanian salmon, barramundi fillets (from the Daintree) and prawns from the east coast of Australia.
They can supply anything from family meals to sashimi fish and gourmet seafood platters. Bringing wholesale prices to the general public and the same fish that they supply to their restaurants, you can be sure of great value and quality.
Fish can be scaled or filleted to order by professional fishmongers, many of whom are former chefs with the team very happy to give advice about menu ideas for your next dinner party.
