THE northbound Swansea bridge is stuck in the open position due to a mechanical fault.
As a result, northbound and southbound motorists are both using the southbound Swansea bridge under contra-flow conditions.
There is only one lane open in each direction on the southbound bridge.
Traffic is heavy in both directions, especially northbound.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, exercise caution and reduce speed.
Emergency services and traffic crews are on site and maintenance crews are attending as well.
