Consideration was also given to the predictions of more rain before the weekend.
SportsFest was planned to run this weekend, September 21 and 22.
"SportsFest will not be rescheduled for 2019, however council will continue to work with sporting and recreation associations and organisations across the Coast to promote and encourage new ways to get active, improve quality of life and engage with the local community," a spokesperson for the council said.
"Donations of used sports equipment as part of the 'Be a Good Sport' charity drive in the lead up to SportsFest can still be received at our donation drop-off points as planned by Fair Game Australia - to local under-serviced communities that need them most," the spokesperson said.
Donation drop-off points have been extended until Monday, September 23, and include the council administration building at Wyong, Toukley Aquatic Centre, and Lake Haven Recreation Centre.

THE Central Coast will host an action-packed and eclectic line-up of exhibitors at SportsFest this weekend.
The free event will showcase a variety of sport and recreational opportunities available in the region.
SportsFest will be held this Saturday and Sunday, from 9am to 5pm, at EDSACC Bateau Bay.
It aims to encourage locals of all ages to get active, improve their quality of life and engage with the local community through participation or volunteering in sport and recreation.
Central Coast Council's open space and recreation unit manager, Brett Sherar, said there would be something to cater for everyone's interest - from the water to the court, on foot or horse, and from traditional ball sports to the more unusual and everything in between.
"This year SportsFest will exhibit over 30 sport and recreational activities over the weekend with an exciting range of demonstrations including skydiving, motocross, equestrian and wheelchair sports to name a few," Mr Sherar said.
