With that in mind, Central Coast Council is inviting residents to a special memorial service on Father's Day eve.
The service will be held at Noraville Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, to remember dads that have passed away.
Mayor Jane Smith said the service is an opportunity for the community to recognise and pay tribute to the innumerable contributions of those dads they have lost.
"Father's Day can be a day of mixed emotions for those whose fathers have passed away," she said.
"Our annual event is a special way that residents can honour and pay tribute to lost loved ones and the impact they have made to our lives - the advice, memories, dad jokes, stories, encouragement and love.
"Council's Father's Day memorial service, with Simplicity Funerals, is an opportunity for us all to celebrate and reflect on the wonderful memories of dads, grandpas, uncles and any other father figures that have touched our lives and have passed on.
"Please join us to celebrate and give thanks to our dads and make it a special day for everyone to remember."
Council's Father's Day service will be held on Saturday, August 31 from 11am at Noraville Cemetery and Memorial Gardens.
Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
