GW Meats is a family-owned and operated butchery in the heart of the Toronto CBD.
Owner and butcher Glenn Wheat works the business with his son and daughter and has been operating in the Brighton Street location for seven years. Glenn himself has over 30 years experience in the industry and loves his Toronto location.
"It's just so handy for everyone," he said. "We provide the whole range of butchery needs to the community, from the sausages or chops for dinner right through to the bulk packs you might need for a fund-raiser or special event."
Produce is delivered daily and Glenn works hard to support the community that supports him.
"We put together meat trays and meat vouchers for local schools if they're doing a fundraiser," Glenn said.
"We support our local junior rugby league team, the Macquarie Scorpions.
"And we provide bulk packs if groups like the Caridiff Brass Band or the local Men's Shed need 70kg of sausages, say, for a Bunnings Barbecue or what not - we'll do that up no worries."
Similarly if people want bulk meat for a special event, GW Meats can accommodate with a price to suit your budget.
"It might be a 21st of 50th coming up, people want to put something on the spit, we can can supply meat to order, roll it out, bone it up - they bring the spit in, we set it up and away they go."
GW Meats is at 8 Brighton Avenue, Toronto, opposite Aldi. For info ring 4959 6556.
