I want to reassure all our long-standing clients that nothing else will change.
Harris Wheeler Toronto has been serving the general Lake Macquarie community for over 30 years, but come the end of August it will have a new name - Halyburton Legal.
Principal solicitor and owner, Kathryn Halyburton, wants current and future clients to know the practice will continue to provide the same personalised legal advice it has for over the last three decades.
"Harris Wheeler Lawyers had two offices - one in Newcastle, and one in Toronto. I started my legal career with Harris Wheeler Lawyers and worked there for 17 years," Kathryn explained.
"Between 2009 and 2013, I managed the Toronto Office after John Williams retired.
"In 2017, when Harris Wheeler Lawyers decided to merge with a national firm, I bought the Toronto office. It then became known as Harris Wheeler Toronto but it's time to change the name to reflect the current ownership. In the next few weeks, the Harris Wheeler Toronto sign will be changing to Halyburton Legal. I want to reassure all our long-standing clients that nothing else will change. We still have all their documents and processes in place and it will be business as usual."
Halyburton Legal will offer the same high quality, supportive and personalised legal advice as its predecessor.
"For over 30 years we've looked after local clients and we are now looking after their children and in some cases their grandchildren, " Kathryn said. "Our clients' needs are diverse and as a practice we cover all areas of law including criminal law, family law, estates, wills and conveyancing.
"The Westlakes area is a growth corridor and our conveyancer, Geoff Zietsch, has 30 years of experience. There's nothing he hasn't seen when it comes to conveyancing and property law.
"We have three solicitors, including myself, who can assist in all legal areas - from powers of attorney and enduring guardians, to buying and selling businesses, preparing wills, assisting in family disputes, criminal matters, self-managed superannuation and deceased estates. We are well supported by our amazing support staff, Julie Carter and Michelle Dambergs, who have been with us a long time and are very experienced in processing all legal matters.
"Halyburton Legal, just like Harris Wheeler Toronto before it, understands that any time a client needs legal advice it will often involve a big life event of some kind like the death of a family member, buying a house or the breakdown of a relationship. We are committed to providing personal service and helping our clients through the legal side of these big life events. We are always supportive and committed to getting the best legal outcome for our clients.
"Though the name has changed, Halyburton Legal we will continue to deliver quality, personalised legal advice to our clients and invite anyone with legal needs or questions to get in touch with us"
Halyburton Legal is located at 20 The Boulevarde in Toronto's CBD. For further information phone 4935 8600.
