They provide a flexible play-based curriculum encompassing the Early Years Framework. Their educators plan in partnership with families and implement and develop programs and future learning experiences to suit children's individual needs and interests.
With respect and positive guidance the children develop a sense of self and confidence, gain new skills, face challenges and develop meaningful relationships.
The team develop a holistic approach to teaching which allows children to gain the skills to be confident, independent and involved learners who will try new things and safely take risks.
Children climb trees and use real tools in a safe and supervised environment. They wear protective clothing and know there needs to be an educator present. This is an opportunity to show children how to assess their own risks and become responsible for their own safety.
One of the important parts of TCCCC's program is connecting with local community. They regularly use the oval next door for ball games, obstacle courses, picnics or just a walk.
They enjoy visiting the local schools and join them for visits in the classroom, watch their children performing in musicals, participate in hat parades and explore experiences on Alphabet days. Sometimes they walk to these or sometimes the schools are able to pick them up in their bus.
TCCCC take the children to visit the local library to enjoy story time, puppet shows and then to borrow books.
They walk up to the local shops and sometimes the children buy ingredients for cooking or lunch.
They participate in a Healthy Food Discovery food tour at Woolworths each year.
The police station is just up the road and they always welcome TCCCC as they walk by or come to visit. This year TCCCC has been able to take some children to Bush School which means they can learn with nature for three hours on a regular basis.
TCCCC plan many visits from community and educational organisations like Science on the Move to teach us about science concepts, Henny Penny Hatching, Librarian visits, Living Safely with Dogs and Swagful of Instruments to look at various instruments.
TCCCC believe children need to have a sense of belonging in their local community and that means they are active participants in that local community. It is their community to enjoy so TCCCC try to get out and enjoy it as much as they can.
