The library will get a fresh lick of paint and new signage and branding throughout. It will reopen on Monday, September 2.
During this time a community book nook will be installed outside Toronto Library. This will give the Toronto community the opportunity to borrow a book or leave a book for others to enjoy without the need for a library card.
The after-hours return shoot will remain open for residents wanting to return items.
For those who can't wait a week to borrow again, council's mobile library, The Rover, will be at Toronto from 10am to noon on Wednesday, August 21, Saturday, August 24, and Wednesday, August 28.
Residents can renew borrowed items online or by contacting other library branches.
All eCollections will be available during the closure.
Meeting room hirers are not affected and will continue to have access to the Toronto Library meeting room.
