One northbound lane of the motorway was closed on the deck of the bridge due to the crash.
Emergency services have freed a person trapped in one of the vehicles, and have cleared the crash site.
While all northbound lanes are open again, northbound traffic remains very heavy and is queued around 11km back to Cowan.
Motorists travelling north on the motorway are still advised to allow plenty of extra travel time.
Earlier this evening
THERE has been a multi-vehicle crash on the Hawkesbury River Bridge.
Emergency services and traffic crews are on site, working to clear the crash.
One northbound lane was closed on the bridge at 5pm.
Motorists are able to pass the crash in the other two northbound lanes, but traffic is heavy and queued more than five kilometres.
Motorists travelling north on the M1 Pacific Motorway are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time.
