LAKE Macquarie MP Greg Piper said the immediate future of Myuna Bay Sport and Recreation Centre should be known soon with an independent review of the closure due for release shortly. Locals were dismayed when the NSW Office of Sport closed the centre on March 29 following an Origin Energy report which said the ash dam wall at Eraring power station could be compromised by a large earthquake. Meeting soon on Morisset Country Club future
LAKE Macquarie MP Greg Piper said he expected plans for the future of the Morisset Country Club site to be revealed soon. "I understand that plans for the 90-hectare property will be unveiled publicly in several weeks by a company which has an option to buy the site from Drysdale Metals," Mr Piper said. "There is currently no development or rezoning application lodged with Lake Macquarie City Council, so we'll have to wait until the new owner's intentions are known before we know what the future holds for this very important local site."
