The organisation, based at Toronto Amateur Sailing Club, provides sailing opportunities for people with disabilities.
Sailability's Margaret Jensen gladly received the cheque at a presentation held recently at Morisset Masonic Lodge.
She said the money would be used to purchase portable radios and other safety equipment.
The Lodge became aware of Sailability Toronto's excellent work through Maurie Pearson, a spokesperson for Morisset Masonic Lodge said.
"Maurie Pearson, Master of the Lodge, chose Sailability to be the beneficiary because he had been a charity worker at Sailability for a number of years, and had seen the delight in the clients' faces as they took on the task of sailing," the spokesperson said.
The Lodge also acknowledged the generous support it had recieved from the community, including from O'Murrays Irish Bar and Grill, Centennial Coal, Lake Macquarie Hotel, Coles, The Bay Hotel, Dora Cree Workers Club, and Wyee Nursery.
"Lodge Morisset in the past has supported Defence Care, the Cancer Council, local families, local churches and Morisset High School," the spokesperson said.
"To find out more about our activities we have Open Day, on the fourth Saturday of the month, from 9am to 11am, at the Morisset Masonic Center, at 5 Yambo Street, Morisset."
