The targeted area is about half a hectare of bushland at 700 George Downes Drive.
The burn is expected to start about 10am and be completed by about 6pm.
"There may be some smoke and fire activity visible from local roadways during and after the hazard reduction operation," the NSW RFS district assistant for the Central Coast, Matt Horwood, said.
"Motorists in this area should slow down and take care if driving through smoke, including keeping windows up and turning their headlights on.
"Residents in this area should take the appropriate precautions including keeping doors and windows closed, remove washing from clothes lines and ensure any pets are in a protected area. Residents may also experience discoloured water due to fire fighters extracting water from the water mains during the hazard reduction operation."
The hazard reduction burn may be re-scheduled should weather conditions be inappropriate.
"Ongoing patrols of the burn will be conducted as required," Mr Horwood said.
