Lake Macquarie City Council is about to launch a new events funding program.
The program aims to help deliver events and activities across the city that benefit the community and support the outcomes outlined in the draft event and festival strategy and action plan.
Council's arts, culture and tourism manager, Jacqui Hemsley, said the new application process would streamline the way the community sought funding assistance from council.
"Our new event funding program offers financial support to not-for-profit community organisations for projects, equipment, events, exhibitions or performances which contribute positively to our community," Ms Hemsley said.
"The funding is available across three categories - local events and celebrations, community events, and sponsored events and festivals.
"We're also hosting three information sessions for applicants, so I encourage community event organisers to come along and learn more about the new funding program, the online process, and how to put together a competitive application."
The first round of event funding is set to open in June.
Information sessions for applicants will be held on.-
- Monday, June 3, at 5pm, in Charlestown Library;
- Tuesday, June 4, at 5.30pm, in the Swansea Centre; and
- Thursday, June 6, at 6pm, in Toronto Library.
RSVPs are required for all workshops and can be emailed to events@lakemac.nsw.gov.au or by phoning council on 4921 0333.
