LAKE Macquarie City Council on Monday approved a 55-metre tall National Broadband Network tower to be built on private property at Wyee Farms Road, Wyee. The tower will provide wireless NBN coverage to parts of the suburb not served by fixed-line infrastructure. The monopole is set to rise nine times above the maximum building height of the area. After receiving a staff report recommending approval, councillors voted 10-1 to approve the tower, despite pleas from a Wyee resident to reject the proposal.

Water charges down for Central Coast
AVERAGE households in the former Wyong Shire will pay about $150 less per annum in water charges (depending on usage) following a determination by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) on water, sewerage and stormwater drainage fees on Friday. Central Coast Council and the Central Coast community contributed to the final determination through a detailed submission that included community sentiment from a survey, public hearing and direct feedback in writing to IPART.
