The donation will go towards accommodation, high-cost prescription items, specialised formulas, quality of life equipment and travel expenses for local families with sick children.
Store manager Brandon Vidler was rapt to give back to the local community.
"We are proud to support an extremely deserving organisation. It was great to see many locals coming in store to support these local groups," he said.
Central Coast Kids In Need is a volunteer group that raises money for families of seriously ill Central Coast children who are required to travel to Sydney and Newcastle hospitals for treatment.
The group pays for some families' accommodation, travel and medical expenses.
Locals who visited Telstra Store Lake Haven last month were invited to vote for one of three local charitable organisations to receive the $5000.
