The former fast bowling great joined Bunnings general manager operations Ryan Baker, complex manager Stephanie McLennan, and Bunnings staff to celebrate the official opening on Thursday.
It's a massive complex.
The new $42 million warehouse covers more than 16,000 square metres.
It features an undercover car park, a five-lane timber trade drive through, children's playground, café, 11 kitchen displays and four bathroom displays.
The new store also includes a tool shop, flooring area and trade area that are double the size of the previous store which was located across the road on Lake Haven Drive.
Ms McLennan said team members were looking forward to welcoming customers to the store, and to helping local community groups to get things done.
"Team members have supported a number of community groups already, working together to assist in local community projects such as converting the storage room at Camp Breakaway into a lounge/kitchen and emergency respite sitting room," Ms McLennan said.
"The team also worked with pupils at Gorokan Public School to give its outdoor garden and kitchen area a much-needed refresh by building a multi-purpose bench for food preparation and dining, rejuvenating garden beds and relocating native bees.
"Bunnings is always on the lookout for opportunities to contribute to local causes and we look forward to continuing to provide assistance to more local community groups in the future."
Regular DIY workshops have been scheduled for customers tackling projects in the home and garden.
"Our team has worked extremely hard to prepare the store for opening and they can't wait to share their extensive DIY knowledge with customers who are undertaking home improvement projects," Ms McLennan said.
And in more good news for locals, Bunnings Warehouse Lake Haven will continue to provide ongoing support to local community groups to raise funds for a variety of causes by hosting their Bunnings sausage sizzles.
A range of entertainment and special guest appearances has been scheduled at the store over two weekends.
The fun started last night (Friday, April 12) with Paw Patrol shows at 5pm and 7pm. Kids also enjoyed meet and greet sessions with the Paw Patrol cast at 6pm and 8pm.
The entertainment and special guests continue this Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14, and again next weekend, April 20, 21 and 22.
The new Bunnings Warehouse Lake Haven is at the corner of Chelmsford Road and Pacific Highway, Charmhaven.
