News in brief: Body found after Lake house fire on Monday

A BODY was found after a house fire at Barnsley on Monday night. Emergency services were called to Macquarie Street after a neighbour noticed a house on fire about 11.15pm. Fire and Rescue NSW officers discovered the body after they extinguished the blaze about midnight. Police have been told a 23-year-old man lived in the home; he has not been accounted for. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the identity of the deceased as well as the cause of death. Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
