The workshop will be held on Sunday, May 26, at Westlakes Music Centre, Rathmines.
Kylie-Ann Lysaght of Toronto Brass said the workshop was aimed at junior brass and percussion musicians of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
"The workshop will be run in conjunction with the junior band program Catalina Brass, and will be free to participants thanks to a generous grant from Create NSW in conjunction with the Band Association of NSW," Ms Lysaght said.
"Tutors will include some of the region's foremost specialist brass and percussion teachers. This is a great way for budding musicians currently learning an instrument to experience a fun-filled day of music with like-minded peers."
Workshop participants would learn new music and have "an amazing social experience", Ms Lysaght said.
"The day will culminate with a short concert experience for an audience of family and friends," she said.
The workshop is being organised by Toronto Brass volunteers who will provide morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea on the day.
Sign on will be at 8.45am, and the workshop is expected to continue until about 3pm.
"Participants will be required to bring their brass instrument or percussion sticks or mallets with them. Music, stands and percussion instruments will be provided," Ms Lysaght said.
Participants are requested to email their expression of interest by Friday, April 12, to torontobrassband@gmail.com and provide the following information for planning purposes: the child's name, age, school, instrument, and how long they have been playing the instrument.
