THE NSW Rural Fire Service has declared an end to the statutory bushfire danger period in the Central Coast District. It means from Monday, April 1, fire permits are no longer required for the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie local government areas. Locals must still abide by the law when conducting hazard reduction burns. That includes notifying neighbours and the local fire authority 24 hours before burning.
