Yasmin Catley said she was "very proud" to be re-elected as the member for Swansea, but "disappointed" the Liberals retained power in NSW. "We've got a fight on our hands for that and [to] champion the cause for the people of Swansea," Ms Catley said. She said she would advocate for improvements to the bus network, for Swansea Channel to be dredged regularly, a solution to congestion on Carters Road, "positive movement" on renewable energy and opposition to privatisation.

Online tool allows for quick leak reporting
IT is now easier than ever before for Hunter Water customers and members of the community to report water leaks, with the launch of a new online reporting tool.
The online platform allows people to quickly report water leaks and upload photos via a simple form on Hunter Water's website.

Feedback sought on floodplain management
CENTRAL Coast Council is seeking community feedback on two separate draft studies and plans on floodplain risk management - one for Wyong River catchment and the other for Ourimbah Creek catchment.

Cash boost for groups
SEVEN projects in the Central Coast LGA will benefit from a combined $27,000 boost from the council's Community Support Grant Program.
The grant provides support for community groups to deliver activities which require less than $5,000 of funding and/or in-kind support.
Among the recipients were Mannering Park Mens Shed, Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club and the Aboriginal Men's Health and Wellness Group.
Telstra's donation
TELSTRA Store Lake Haven's donation program Connected Community is set to donate $5,000 to one of three local charity groups.
Not-for-profit community organisations could nominate to be chosen to receive the funding. The $5,000 donation recipient will be determined by the number of votes received in store. The nominees are Central Coast Kids in Need, Shoebox Revolution and Ronald McDonald House - Gosford Family Room.
Funding for events in Lake Macquarie
LAKE Macquarie City Council on Monday night allocated $29,085 in funding to community groups and individuals for local events and programs. Among the recipients were: Community Activities Lake Macquarie (CALM) for National Families Week Picnic - $365; Dementia Australia for Hunter Memory Walk and Jog - $1320; and Toronto Lions Club for Float Your Boat Activation - $3250.
