Art gallery to close for makeover

LAKE Macquarie City Art Gallery will be closed from April 1 to early September while it undergoes a $2.3-million transformation.The redevelopment will see the creation of more exhibition space, and a dedicated Aboriginal gallery. More solar panels and a new air-conditioning plant will also be added to the building. The Sculpture Park and Awaba House Restaurant and Cafe will remain open during construction. The cafe's phone number is 49506366.
