Firstly, the exhibition is outstanding and features some of the best works by Visual Arts students from the Higher School Certificate class of 2018.
Secondly, the gallery, at Booragul, will close at the end of the month to undergo a $2.3-million makeover, and is expected to remain closed until September.
"Now in its 11th year, the much-anticipated First Class exhibition project celebrates the high calibre of work by the previous year's HSC Visual Arts students from the Hunter and Central Coast regions," the gallery's marketing officer Laura Wilson said.
"In First Class 18, the selected artists explore themes of memory, culture, science and the environment. This year it was curated by Courtney Novak and Helen Willis.
"It is a delight for all ages."
The gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. First Class 18 will be on show until Sunday, March 31.
