This means southbound lanes will be shifted to the right for about five kilometres, from Doyalson interchange to 1.5 kilometres north of the southbound service centre entry.
There will be no change to the service centre access, an RMS spokesperson said.
These changes are expected to be in place from early morning on Tuesday, February 26, weather permitting, until mid-2019.
"Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control," the spokesperson said.
"Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience during this time."
