Lake Macquarie City Council is calling on the community to be a ‘good neighbour’ and help others in their street. Council’s ageing and disabilities services community planner Jennifer Linton-Webb said people could make a big difference in their community. “Taking 10 minutes out of your week to help a neighbour put out their bins or maintain their nature strip or garden could make a world of difference in their lives,” Ms Linton-Webb said. “Over the next 18 years, the number of people aged 65 years and over is expected to grow from 44,263 people to almost 60,000 people and more people in our community will rely on the kindness of neighbours to help with these household tasks. “Helping others brings many positive benefits to your mental health and wellbeing, and creates a sense of belonging.” Cooranbong Newsagnecy sells winning lottery ticket for couple’s second windfall Sounds supreme all over the world | photos | video Hunter councils receive funds to better manage contaminated land
