Toronto Amateur Sailing Club is hosing the event, and there are some great vantage points for spectators on the Toronto foreshore.
Competitors from around Australia are contesting a range of classes ranging from juniors, youth and opens, to masters, grand masters and legends.
The championships comprise competition in four disciplines:
- Course Racing – a series of up to 12 all in races, where competitors count their best 10 places;
- Slalom – a short, frantic course where 8 sailors compete in each heat, progressing to a 3 race final;
- Marathon – a spectacular long distance event that takes sailors on a course around the Lake; and
- Freestyle – a three-minute trick routine that showcases board control, artistry and balance set to music and held in close proximity to shore.
