Whether you’re into big outdoor concerts, or more intimate club and pub gigs, there’s plenty of quality music planned for Australia Day this Saturday.
In Lake Macquarie, Speers Point Park will be the focus of attention when The Choirboys headlines an amazing line-up of live entertainment.
Formed in 1979 and still boasting its original line-up 40 years later, The Choirboys will take to the stage to perform some of their biggest hits, including Run to Paradise, Boys Will Be Boys, and Struggle Town.
The fun at Speers Point Park starts at midday, and many families will make a day of it.
Family-friendly activities will be held throughout the day.
They include an outdoor cinema screening of The Sapphires, local entertainment, and the annual Scouts canoe race.
A food truck alley will feature takeaway options from across the globe, with vendors lining either side of the Speers Point Park promenade.
The concert in the park will also include Absolutely 80s, My Generation, All Access 80s and Kaitlyn Simms, with a spectacular fireworks display finale at about 9pm.
On the Central Coast, Memorial Park at The Entrance will be buzzing on Saturday for Australia Day.
The main stage event program starts at 1.30pm with the Tuggerah Lakes Show Band.
Steve Edmonds Band will hit the stage at 6.30pm, prior to veteran Glenn Shorrock’s performance from 8pm.
Royal Motor Yacht Club, Toronto, will feature the four-piece rock and blues outfit Presidential Sweet from 4.30pm.
And on Sunday, January 27, see GANGgajang perform at Toronto Hotel supported by Boney Rivers and Gen-R-8 from 2.30pm. General admission tickets cost $25.
