The lunch has been held every year since 2010, attracting up to 100 guests who might otherwise be alone at Christmas.

This year’s lunch was in danger of being cancelled because a caterer could not be found.

“However, our new partners Lake Mac Church have found someone that can accommodate us for Christmas Eve this year,” Vivienne Bruce, from Southlakes Carers, said.

“If you would like to attend please call Southlakes Carers on 4973 3855, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm, by Friday, December 14. About 20 to 30 places remain to be filled.”

The cost is $10 per person, and transport to and from the lunch at Morisset Multi-Purpose Centre is available.
