MEMBER for Lake Macquarie, Greg Piper, said an announcement would be made soon on a plan to better secure and manage Morisset Hospital and the kangaroos in the grounds. “I've been in continued discussions with Hunter Health, animal welfare groups and National Parks and Wildlife Service regarding the kangaroos at Morisset Hospital,” Mr Piper said. Tourist numbers had grown and become a significant problem at the hospital, which had impacted patients, residents, staff and kangaroos, he said.​
