A highlight of the event will be Round 2 of the 2018 Offshore Superboat Championships.
Jet ski races – part of the Lake Mac PWC (personal water craft) Race Series – will keep the adrenaline pumping afloat, while aerobatic displays across the weekend by Matt Hall Racing will turn the crowd’s attention skyward.
A host of activities, attractions and entertainment will be on offer for the land-lovers, including markets, children’s amusement rides, a pop-up bar, and eateries.
For those who want to get wet there are free water sports activities at Marmong Point.
“Past instalments have shown us this is one of the biggest, best and most exciting annual events in Lake Macquarie,” mayor Kay Fraser said.
“And the best thing is that all the waterborne action is free.”
Speers Point Park will host a show-and-shine car display and farmers markets on Saturday, October 13, and a food and wine festival on Sunday.
The weekend will kick off with a free Jet and Jive concert at Warners Bay foreshore, from 6 to 9pm.
Warners Bay, Eleebana and Marmong Point, which will act as the staging and pits area for the Superboats, will be among the best vantage points for all the action.
