It’s one of 16 regional locations that have been included for its 12th season of Cinema Under the Stars.
Central Coast Stadium, at Gosford, and King Edward Park, in Newcastle, are also on the itinerary.
Newcastle Permanent CEO, Terry Millett, said what began as a single event in Newcastle was now Australia’s largest free regional outdoor cinema program.
“Newcastle Permanent is really proud to host free Cinema Under the Stars events in some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in regional NSW, as a way to give back to families from the regions we operate in,” Mr Millett said.
“This season’s movies will appeal to everyone – they’re truly family friendly, will delight all ages, and were selected after asking our Facebook followers for their feedback.
“We can’t wait to get back to all the fantastic regional communities which already know and love these events, and bring our family-favourite event to Lake Macquarie for the first time.”
Paddington 2 will be screened at Speers Point Park on Saturday, February 16.
The Greatest Showman will be screened at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday, January 19, and at King Edward Park on Saturday, January 12.
“Each location will feature a great evening of free, family-friendly entertainment including local talented musicians, followed by a blockbuster movie for all ages at sundown,” Mr Millett said.
“We encourage everyone to come down from 5.30pm to settle in and relax with a picnic and experience the magical atmosphere of watching a popular family film in the great outdoors.”
