The Kookaburras defeated the Central Coast’s Northern Power by four wickets in their annual pre-season match for the Lakes Mail Shield.
Responding to the visitors’ total of 214 (all out), Toronto reached 6-215 in the 40th over.
Toronto fielded a largely inexperienced team, and rested some key personnel who will be integral to the first grade campaign this season.
Toronto’s Corey Brown (48) was good at the top of the order, while new recruit Brendon Charlton, who was playing against his former club, scored an unbeaten 51 in the middle order.
Northern Power opener Jeremy O’Connell scored 77 before his six-bound drive over long-on was snared by Brown on the boundary.
Dylan Perry-Smith claimed 4-33 from eight overs for Toronto.
This Saturday, play at Ron Hill Oval will start at 11am in the Tom Locker Cup 40-over-per-side fixture.
