The committees to be dissolved are the Bunya Park Reference Group; Combined Chambers Consultative Committee; Holiday Parks Committee; and Tourism Consultative Committee.
A report to council said Bunya Park Reference Group had served its purpose and not met since November 2017.
The Combined Chambers Consultative Committee has not met since February, 2017. Fostering dialogue with Lake Macquarie’s business community was now the responsibility of Dantia which has since established a Lake Macquarie City Combined Business Network.
The Holiday Parks Committee was no longer required as council staff were “increasingly skilled and experienced in managing council’s holiday parks”, meaning the work of the committee had diminished over time.
And the Tourism Consultative Committee had “struggled to retain membership and identify a clear strategic direction”, the report said.
Council also agreed to repurpose the Property and Investment Committee.
